El Valle: The Rio Grande Delta
El Valle – a 284 page English / Spanish coffee table book of the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
A first of its kind, El Valle takes the reader on a visual journey through the Valley, from Falcon Lake to the Gulf of Mexico, exploring the rich biodiversity and cultural legacy that has taken root along the banks of the Rio Grande.
Divided into 4 main categories—The Land, The People, The Plants and The Animals, El Valle serves as an introduction to a region shared by two great nations. A total of 29 authors contributed to this publication, imparting their own unique and personal perspectives on the many facets of the Valley. To visually compliment these articles, Seth Patterson, a Brownsville resident and the books principle photographer, spent many months traveling between the United States and Mexico. His photographs highlight a remarkably diverse cultural and natural history that is all too often overlooked or simply not known.
Published in collaboration with Earth in Focus Editions, the publishing arm of the International League of Conservation Photographers, El Valle joins a prestigious collection of publications aimed at raising awareness to the importance of responsible land stewardship and conservation of our vanishing natural resources.
El Valle has won a Gold Medal in the 2011 Independent Book Publisher’s Publisher of the Year (IPPY) Awards!
